Any tips for interviewing with Guidehouse for a data scientist position? I have an hour and a half video interview with 2 managing consultants and a director.

What’s the hiring market like in Texas for a 4th year investment management associate? I’m interested in Austin but understand there may be more opportunities in Houston or Dallas. Graduated with honors and on law review at a T14, if that helps at all.

When you are setting up a second interview and the recruiter calls back that the team already offered the position to someone else. 😒

I’m not designated a senior associate, but my small firm (boss, myself, and a paralegal) is hiring a recent grad. Still needs to pass the hazing ritual (aka bar exam). I will be supervising the new hire. Should I get them a welcome aboard gift or wait for exam results and get a welcome to the club gift? Or both? Ideas for either or both?

I received a technical test for an AI consultant role. I have no idea what the content or how I should prep. is it appropriate to go back to the company recruiter and ask to provide more info?

People who have transitioned from consulting to industry or an objectively less demanding role (i.e working 40-45 hrs a week), what makes you feel good about your decision? What would you do in this situation?
I have my last day at employer A right before thanksgiving and will be covered on their health insurance through 11/30. I am taking some time off before starting a new position with employer B in mid January but their insurance wouldn’t be effective until 2/1. I have 60 days to elect COBRA under employer A, which leaves me with 2 days where I wouldn’t have coverage (Jan30/31). What would you do in this situation? (Cont)

Looking to transfer into a client associate role (unregistered at the moment, but willing to obtain). Currently have ~1.5 YOE in valuation (financial statement analysis, modeling, etc.) I get that those skills could be unrelated to a CSA role, but I think there could be some similarities. Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). I’m just having second thoughts as exit opportunities aren’t as prevalent as I thought, the pay/benefits don’t match industry/risk of joint a startup, and I’m not getting the network of a Big4 or MBB

I have a question about pricing. Some context to my upcoming question: My brother and I are starting a personal training business. I have six years military experience and he is still in the military. Collectively we have passed the hardest schools in the military and both love fitness and have experience building programs and are both certified personal trainers. I don’t know weather we should charge on the higher spectrum because of our experience or lower because of our business infancy.
