If I put a TVC in my book (as an art director), what are the general assumptions of my role in the project? Are art directors usually supposed to handle set design and stuff in addition to concepting it? Should I be specific in my book as to what parts I did or didn’t do or leave that to when people ask in interviews?

I’ve busted my ass to become an Account Director and 2 years in the role, I learned that I hate it. I just want to be an Account Supervisor because I love being a part of all the action, but the salary caps so low. Why is it the only way you can make more money is to move “up”? Why can’t you be an individual contributor in this discipline at any age without being judged?

Curious for other 🐠 opinions. I have a friend looking to move firms and he is a Global Director overseeing international teams. But his company’s titles are more like banking, where the levels are: analyst<Manager<VP<SVP<Director<SD<MD<C-level. How would he convey that on his resume if he is looking at a role in a more traditional company? So if he was to move up for the next job it would a SVP.

I got contacted by a recruiter who has a director of strategy role within a PE backed company (ie/ one of their portfolio companies).

I'm hesitant because PE firms imho and experience with previous clients, tend to load their portfolio companies with debt and then sometimes they blow up, like one of my previous clients this year lol

15% increase in base from here, over 500K equity over 4 years, no sign on bonus

Good position here so far, year 3 director, full support from Partners to be pushed into partnership direction next year.
