I work in a startup hedge fund in London with two of us. A pm with 10+ years of experience and myself with 5years of experience (BCG, PE, into this role). We have done well this year but I am paid aggressively below market and do not have carry. Comp benchmarks are challenging as difficult to find an apples to apples comparison. What do you guys think is a reasonable base, bonus, % of carry in this position?

I’ll be starting a new role as AVP within the CFO group at a new company in 3 weeks and I’m getting increasingly nervous.
Any tips/advice for the first day and for success going from an Analyst/entry level to this role would be appreciated!

Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. What does the group focus on in terms of work, what are hours like, decent exit Ops, interview process etc? I'm currently an Analyst in an industry specific Corporate Banking group at a competitor of Citi so I have experience underwriting HY transactions and portfolio management.

I applied for a position recently at a major retail financial company. I had three interviews and now I’ve been ghosted by the entire hiring team. No notice saying they are still in the interview process and no rejection letter. I have no idea why the company would do this. Any advice for how to cope?

Honest question. A company like GS can they reject you for having a bankruptcy on your record? For let’s say an analyst position. Thanks!

Quant role but from a non-quant background - has this ever been heard of before?

I just finished my Hirevue for an analyst position at GS for their PWM and CWM division. I have 1 year of experience in a client facing role (Taking calls) and 2 of the three licenses they required for this role (SIE-63) missing the Series 7. Hi there, I'm a project coordinator at a financial institution. My manager continuously tells me that I'm doing the full job of a project manager, but I have yet to receive a promotion. Is there any set business rules that you must wait a certain period of time before you can get promoted? I've been in this role since April 2022. What advice can you give me in this situation?

For background, I’m 25, work in a front office role in banking, very happy with my comp and have recently passed the CFA exams. I’m not looking to change roles/do a full time MBA as I have a fantastic client base, bright colleagues and great career progression prospects. I'm offered an entry-level role in P&G's finance role. I'm currently working on a tier 2 management consultancy firm as an intern,and they're going to offer me a job soon.

I want to go for p&g because I think work life balance will be better. it really hurts me. but everyone around me says that it would be a terrible decision.. or at least I should switch to brand managemenr because finance is less important than it..

Does Citi usually drag their feet with the offer process? I received an offer two Fridays ago and the recruiter went to the hiring manager with my salary request. They countered my salary request last Tuesday and I countered back in between both numbers (only a $5000) differential. I reached out to the recruiter yesterday and she said she would get back to me very soon. Wanted to make sure I’m not in jeopardy of losing this offer for negotiating? TIA

Have an interview for Blackstone's portfolio management program. Anyone know what to expect for these interviews? Are they technical in nature? The role is a rotational program covering quite a few areas so not really sure what would be tested from a technical perspective

I made the error of telling a recruiter my
minimum preference of salary when she
asked target salary. She confirmed that's
in line with the role pay scale plus a small
bonus. The employer now made me an
offer for this exact amount & small bonus.
Do I live with my error and just accept and
potentially leave $ on the table? Or is it
acceptable to counter with 5k more for
example, (seeing as everyone usually
recommends countering and that the
employer is expecting a counter/can
always do better)
