I interviewed for a role at BlackRock three weeks ago and got a call from the recruiter a week later saying they liked me and wanted to move forward with an offer. I haven't heard anything since... Does it usually take this long?

Anyone worked with a recruiter after being “head hunted” via LinkedIn. This recruiter calls me prior to each interview to give me tips and we speak after to debrief. So far he’s been helpful and seems genuinely invested in getting me into this position, as long as I want it. Trying to figure out if I should actually trust him though since obviously they’re contracted by the company. Any red flags to look out for?

Been in my current role for like 7 months, but a role I’ve always been interested in my old company came up and I think I’d have a good shot, but I don’t want to leave my current role for another year. I want to apply to create the relationship with the team for next year (but wouldn’t join regardless of interview outcome), is this a bad idea? Would I potentially burn bridges with the interviewers?

Hi everyone, applied for an investment consulting internship few weeks back.
It's a client facing job, but it might come at a later stage of a job, maybe after finishing my internship and getting a job offer.

I'm currently two interviews in for an Associate role at Blackrock. What should I be expecting in terms of total comp (Boston area)? Additionally, how long does the interview process typically take?

Happy Friday everyone, what are your thoughts on switching from a financial analyst in higher education to a financial analyst for a company that started in 2017 and is growing? They are a “start up” company but no mom and pop shop by any means. I have been in higher education since graduating a little over a year ago and contemplating whether to stay in my role or try the private industry?

I’m in a newly created role that was originally a “consultant” approach with 80+ advisors now morphed into just a planner role where I’m actually doing the plans. I was going to have metrics based on touches and plans reviewed, now my success is 100% tied to revenue as a result of my plan. I’ve been in the role less than a year, 3 month into hearing about the revenue goal and was just on a call with my manager where he brought in HR and told me I was underperforming. Anyone here have an jobs openings at their company or one they know that they would recommend? Basically I plan to leave current company I’m at now. My background is Tax heavy, did 5 years in PA and then just about a year in finance operations. I would prefer a finance role moving forward as I no longer want to stay in tax. Finance/operations/consulting are my ideal choices.

I am looking for a new job. I have a degree in ornamental horticulture with a minor in business administration. My intention with my degree was to start my own business. I soon realized this was not in my cards. Through life experiences I eventually landed a position as a loan officer and credit analyst. I love this career. I have been here for 7 years but due to management changes and a buyout, I am keeping my options open. I feel most employers can't get past my degree. Any suggestions??

I graduated from a top uni last year and just accepted an offer for an investment analyst role with a startup company in Miami for 75k, starting Monday. However I also just got an email to set interview for my first choice company in NYC on Friday… how would y’all advise I proceed?

Extremely toxic work environment & interviewing for other jobs. Would you 1) risk being fired (unsure when) or 2) quit/give notice and risk not having an offer fast enough? My finance is set and I’m primarily concerned about professional reputation. Stuck between two jobs. I have a job offer from a Big4 and also have an operations job offer from a pretty reputable bank. I’ve done a lot of research into consulting and I’m pretty hesitant on the chaos and politics that goes into getting staffed and networking. The operations role seems a lot more stable and safe, but not sure if I’m giving up a lot by playing it safe. The C job also pays about 15k more than the Ops job. Any insight from former Cs or people who have been in similar situations?

is it wise to try to get CAMS certification on my own? I was interested i. getting an AML position. Could someone tell me what the average pay for an AML analyst is? I currently work in brokerage customer service making around $70k with bonus. I have my series 7 and 63 licenses as well.

Finished my video interview a couple weeks ago and got the invite back for round 2 of interviews. I’ve researched the role, but more specifically would like to hear from leaders or other interns who know of the experience itself.

Resume: (13 months) audit associate small regional accounting firm not top 10 (10-20 partners) (25 months) Corp Tax Associate Big 4. (No CPA got PIPd) (6 months) Revenue Accountant Audit Senior not top 10 small regional accounting firm (roughly 10 partners) 2 busy seasons- (24 months), Internal Audit Healthcare (17 months- last May 2021) Left after burntout/bored by IA and health issues also made decent $in crypto

I have been in my role for about 6 months and have recently come across a similar position in another org. Should I apply? Will they look at the fact that I have only been in the current role for 6 months and disqualify me?
