Hiring manager said he would get back after new year. I followed up on Jan 11th as I did not hear back. He replied on the same day that he is sorting thing out and will get back in a day or two and he has not responded till now. Will it be too pushy to follow up again.

I’m on my 2nd day of a new job and it’s nothing like what I was expecting or what the hiring manager said. On top of it, the clients I’m working with has these crazy, outdated brand guidelines that the team has to go by and the creative I’ve seen is just not that great (assuming it’s due to the clients branding). I just don’t know what to do, I feel like this isn’t the place for me but I haven’t even given it a full week yet. Has anyone experienced feelings like this before? What did you do?

Evaluating an exit into Amazon as L6 product manager (TC: $225K) after 1 year at BCG. I want to work in tech/fintech long term. Questions:
1) Is the work life balance better at Amazon, than BCG? Currently I'm averaging 70 hours a week. More than that, the pace is quite insane. Deliverables every couple of hours.
2) Is the level of mentorship/coaching better at Amazon?
3) Is the offer reasonable? Their upper max is 250k and I'm currently at 240, should I try to atleast get my current TC?

So Deloitte just announced early promotions effective end of May... I’m still waiting for PWD and will be likely promoted to manager which means that I’ll have to start process from scratch because PWD was filed for senior role and I don’t think there’s enough time to complete PERM by then ☹️ so I guess I’m one of the rare people not happy with this announcement. Anyone else in the same boat?

Had three interviews for a role at a startup and was scheduled for a final round with the CEO and hiring manager. The final round interviews were rescheduled once and now canceled due to calendar conflicts (always told the day of). I haven’t been told that I’m no longer being considered but is this a nail in the coffin?

So I got an offer with BDO to take on an SM role. I am currently in 1 of the big 4 firms as manager having spent over 10 years there.

1. Does this potential move make sense. Would really like comments especially from those that have made such move.

I worked as a manager for several years on analytics teams and genuinely enjoyed the coaching/mentoring aspects of the job. I miss that as I’ve transitioned to a more individual contributor data scientist role. NYC-based tax senior here. Hopefully will be promoted this upcoming year to manager and thinking of moving to tax technology after getting promoted. For anyone here with experience making this move: how did you sell yourself in order to switch to a different role? Is there a difference in salary? I left an agency about 1.5 years ago (content manager and prev social) to go in house (copywriter). Long story short, agency wants to offer me a senior director role. However, this isn't client facing and would be marketing for the agency itself.

How do you politely turn down a job offer or back out of interview at last step without burning bridges? After meeting the hiring manager and stakeholders I don’t think we’re a good fit. This job also requires relocation. I don’t want to take a job and uproot my life for something that isn’t the right fit. I’m currently unemployed so feeling a bit desperate but also don’t want to move for something that isn’t right. Thanks!
