MBB vs Big 4 Discussions

Alright fish, so I'm from a non-target school for consulting, for reference my school typically sends a couple to the Big 4 federal practices and FDD but definitely no MBB front office. Is there any way in hell I can break into some type of non-strategy role at a Big 4 firm with a B4 audit background and industry experience?
Like I'm trying to get a feel for if it's a waste of time for me to be applying. I've been hitting finance transformation advisory roles pretty hard with out much luck.

Directors / Senior Managers in Big 4, would you consider shifting to MBB as Managers? Or would you rather try for Partnership at your current firms or go to Industry? My current firm is a bit crowded at the top and I have 2 offers - one from a MBB and one from a T2, but both need me to go down a level. I feel like I am too old to be a Manager (35). The salary is definitely comparable and the T2 at least is promising me faster growth to Partner (on paper)

Accepted an offer to join a small mom and pop firm (~50 ppl) there’s ex big 4 there, I’ll be running implementations as a Director. At a tier 2 firm now (going on 4 years) only a small pay bump but better title. TC could be much higher as they claim to pay a high bonus. Don’t start until end of July, and haven’t yet put in my two weeks. Sort of regretting the decision to leave. Feels like this would prevent me from getting to big 4, MBB or similar sized firm later down the road. Thoughts?

Need Help - 2 years to partner in advisory or switch to PE space and try to climb the way up, let us say 4-5yrs to partner. Pros & cons below,
Advisory partner at big 4
Pros - fairly easy life, established enough credibility
Cons - not very prestigious compared to PE or MBB partnerships or even C suite in industry
PE partnership in AP/AM/other firms
Pros - potential to make a bank, network, proven track record of turning around biz etc
Cons- terrible wlb, miserable work place culture (sometimes)

have an offer at a boutique consulting firm for a Director position with a 30% hike. i’m not sure if the non brand name will affect in the long run. from big 4 i’ve been able to get MBB interviews (which i wasn’t able convert) but will the boutique firm basically preclude me from top tier consulting offers? the boutique consulting firm usually does long term implementation projects and fewer core strategy projects but is the hike in pay and position worth it? anyone gone through a similar path?

How well does Tepper place graduates in consulting?
I’m at a T2 firm and could potentially rely on Tepper (with scholarship, ideally) to pivot into tech, and I’m also looking for opportunities at MBB.
The 2020 employment report shows that 1/3 of graduates went into consulting, and that the median base is 160 (so mainly Big 4 I guess), but does anyone know roughly what proportion of them went to MBB/T2?

Has anyone moved from Zinnov to big consulting firm? I am a little skeptical about good exit opportunities from Zinnov to Big 4 or MBB. Kindle help me out if anyone has any experience on the same.

If goal now is to get into MBB (personally prefer McK) - which of the following will be the best option that’ll help me get there -

2. Engineer role at Startup (salary +50% higher than big 4 SC offer)

I'm currently a BCN employee (& an MBA from IIMS) with ~1 year of experience, I want to move to front end within India ASAP, however, MBBs don't really seem an option as they seem to prefer ABC grads.

Next best option is frontend in the Big4, however, what I want to know is that is there something between the Big 3 & Big4 which could be almost as good as entering a MBB but not settling for Big 4.

I’ve never been in mbb or big 4. Just smaller consulting firms. Have a competing offer between FAANG and MBB.

I’m in tech and FAANG is more interesting for my career as well as preferred work culture. However, I’ve seen a lot about MBB here and kind of want to join just so I can say I was in MBB.

Is it gonna be killer hours? Promotion politics? Biases on my lack of education? hoping to hear what others have to say
