I’m a sophomore studying Computer Science and Economics. I’m also fortunate to be elected as the VP of our newly formed Undergrad Consulting Club. While the Big 4 does actively recruit from our campus(we recently became a target school for Deloitte), we haven’t had much luck with getting an MBB recruiter to our campus. Hey, I'm a final year student who'll be joining a tier 2 CRM Consulting firm. I really aspire to work/ maybe live a life that a consultant does. Haven't had much clarity before getting placed but now I really want to learn and grow, all I can think of is becoming a part of MBB, Big 4 too. Don't have good enough internship experience not even amazing grades in college and high school. But I'm dedicated to work hard & smart to reach my goal;get into good B school & then land a job as a Consultant.

If I took a part time MBA program, can I still campus recruit for a summer role at MBB, Big 4, FAANG, etc?

How good is your firm at helping you to acquire new technical skills and business knowledge? I am at a big four, and there is 0 appropriate technical training. I have to pick up stuff on the go and honestly feel like an amateur, just pulling solutions out of my ass..I hate to look back and realize how I could’ve produced better quality work. Is MBB like that, as well? Also, most managers and higher are so abstracted from tech that I don’t even know a single good expert to ask for advice

Does Big 4 (maybe except Deloitte) have a bad image out there? My friends in industry get interviews from MBB/FANG (A as in Apple)/unicorns pretty easily but I never get interviewed from those after many tries. My colleagues exit are pretty average too, mostly our clients or similar

Current approach of breaking down a multi-month project into x hours per task is cumbersome and error prone.

Assume I am at a boutique where expectations and paychecks are not aligned with just working 80 h/wk like at MBB, tier 2 or even big 4, but many employees here are from bigger firms.

Serious question: what do you think is the biggest thing stopping any of the big 4 from being on the same level as mbb? I just had a realization that it might actually be better for them to be below mbb so they don’t have to shell out for employees.

I know everyone wants to work at MBB and that’s fine but idk why people here keep putting Big 4 people down. We’re smart, hard working, and give back to society as anyone else and we don’t need your negativity. End of PSA.

Big 4 risk vs strategy and innovation at a midsize firm (10-13)?

Just internally transferred from Big 4 to T2 (think EY>>EYP or PwC >>S&). Want to apply to MBB now. Do I leave T2 off of my resume? Or is there a way to mention it without being misleading (making MBB think I worked at T2 this whole time)? Would love to add T2 without being misleading

When building your resume, as a big 4 M, what’s the best way to describe ‘an action I took that led to the success of the project / specific result’? I suppose managing people on the project isn’t specific enough. What’s a specific, banger of a pointer in your view from an MBB resume screen perspective?

Big 4 Manager with 4.5 YOE (first job out of college) and have a start up opp now that I might take. Not that it’s very important but if I was to apply after 2 years of start up experience now, would that be better received vs. staying at the Big 4 vs. recruiting at MBB as a Consultant (hypothetically)?

I’m looking to do more strategy work! I’ve been working for about half a year right now and I don’t enjoy the type of work I’ve been doing as It feels very narrow and I’ve been mostly on staff augmentation projects. I would be applying as a BA/AC/Associate. I’m looking to switch as I’ve always wanted to do strategy work and I see that MBB and some tier two firms are hiring. Any advice and feedback is appreciated!
