Advice on taking the SHRM-SCP exam? I’m taking the exam tomorrow and not feeling as prepared as I should. Who has taken the SCP exam? How difficult did you find it?

If I were to make a career change out of HR, what else could I use my skills for? I have 10 years of progressive HR experience from HR Assistant up to Director and have started thinking about a change.

Asking for a friend. Is a 10k raise (75k ->85k) for a promotion to a midlevel creative position in NYC low or typical??? I feel like the raise itself which is only 13% (and inflation eats 5-8% of that) seems low and I want to encourage them to ask for more.

So I just started a new job in sales (B2B specifically). All my life I’ve been in blue collar jobs, military, then construction work ect. I don’t have much money saved to get myself my own business cards as I’m sure they are important to have, I’ve got all the info that I need to go out and start selling. I guess what I’m looking for is just tips on how you guys were successful walking into a whole new arena if that makes sense?

What is the best advice you would give to a junior account manager?

I prepared a presentation for an interview with a sales leader, it went well and I was offered a final interview with regional manager. The sales leader I interviewed with gave me a bunch of feedback, but said to find out information about tech stack, which I for some reason, didn’t consider. I come to find out that deep, hidden within the website of the hypothetical client, they use the service already. Do I roll into the final interview and play dumb or do i present and then come clean?

I made it to regional manager for a franchise by age 22. Ran a successful financial practice & sold by the age of 33. Took 2 years off and built a health & wellness coaching platform for my wife (medical provider). Then, the last 2.5 yrs, have been a top producer in Saas sales as a senior account executive. Hi 👋🏻 Would love some support here - looking to build out a bonus structure for a Sales Engagement Mgr role - it isn't a typical sales role - this person will be closing deals but not necessarily securing leads. If they will be scoring leads, it will be organic via conferences, partnerships. Of course, we want to encourage and incentivize this person. Potentially giving then an extra 20-50k bonus potential. We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

I have two questions. I have 10 years of experience in multiple sectors and I have been trying to gain a leadership position. I am attempting my PHR this summer but what are some tips in order for me to obtain a leadership position? Also, how long does it take to obtain another position out of state? I am trying to move to Houston but I don’t want to move until I am confident I can obtain a position in the city before packing up and leaving.

As an experienced, SHRM certified HRBP , I would just like some feedback on your opinion of the differences in the roles between an HRBP an HR Manager besides the obvious that the manager should have direct reports. I am an HRBP and work in step with 3 HRM’s. They all 3 just got out of cycle raises of between 5-20% 😳 and I received nothing. I am quite aware of our HR code that salary is confidential but I was told about this. Would you be looking for other employment? Or stay?
