5th year associate. Nearly all my law practice experience is litigation. I am looking to transition from litigation to transactional work. What can I do to help myself transition to another area of law. Take a bunch of CLEs, attend events, do pro Bono work etc. (Specially looking to transition to comercial real estate transactional work). I have asked the at-fault party to settle without release from my wife and I am not issuing General Release. They want release from all claims and also a release signed by my wife. Can they ask for it? Shall I accept it or file a court case? I am giving hold harmless document for statutory liens. cntd in comment..

I’m a first year lawyer and I was hired by very prestigious firm about 2 months ago. Been working remotely for the last month. I feel like ever since day 1 I’ve been treading water. I have years of experience working at law firms, but now as an attorney I feel like a little kid in the major leagues. Simply put, I feel stupid because the caliber of work product is so high and I feel like my drafting is nowhere near their level. Sometimes I second guess whether I can cut it. Tips for a new lawyer?

Usually once a week we hand out cookies, chips or popcorn with Gatorade. This is for close to 1200 team members. Does anyone have any great ideas?
