My SO adds very little to our relationship. She has a dead end job. I cook. I work. I oversee finances. I plan trips. She doesn’t have a voice in the relationship. I’ve asked her to give her perspective but she always defaults to mine bc she thinks I’m smarter/worldly. She feels intimated by me and my social circle. Lately, I’ve found myself thinking for her. Anticipating her wants and needs and then adjusting my behavior to meet them. Which she appreciates but it’s frustrating 29M 27F

People who live with housemates / have a garden. Does it get noisy / do you find people in the garden earlier than (we) finish, that distract you from your work?

How do I figure out spending with my SO? Initially I was paying for 90% of stuff (no actual bills, just going out). I talked to her and said we need to be more even. She was never proactive. My students come to my class first every morning and are really hard to settle. They continue to carry on whatever they were doing on the bus. It takes about 20 min to get them settled down and doing the warm up and the class is only 45 min. Any tips?

I feel like I'm at my wits end. I teach self-contained classes and according to the ISBE website my classes shouldn't be more than 8 students unless I have an aide - then it can be 10. I have no aide and most of my classes are around 14 kids. Some with behavior plans that are only out of our behavior room setting for my class... Is anybody else out there going through illegal class sizes for self-contained? How are you dealing? Maybe a vent session is in order.

High school special class (self-contained) teachers: What do you use for planning? I’ve always been an inclusive teacher, so I followed the plan book of my co-teacher. I can’t even decide if I should go digital or paper-based let alone make a final decision! I’ll be teaching 9-11th grade math and 11th grade science. The 11th grade classes I can very much do whatever I (or the student) want/need…there isn’t a set curriculum
