Amazon folks, how are your salaries getting adjusted?

15 YOE Sales AE considering a boot camp to make the career pivot to software engineering. Made $200k last year - likely looking at a 50+% pay cut at the start of my engineering career, plus the cost of the boot camp. Am I crazy? How long would it take me to get back to $200k+/yr in engineering?

Is there any difference in negotiating before year-end vs. in January? Will more budgets release in January making it easier to get sign-on bonuses etc.?

I have an MBA from the University of Chicago, not that it matters much in sales. I have always been in a consulting role but I think I can make more in sales. I have a competitive personality and I am bored.

Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?

But because of my Sales Experience my profile is not getting shortlisted.

Can I still work as a telemarketer even though I have a noticeable accent? People don't say they can't understand me but they seem relieved when they get to talk to somebody else. Exited M level consulting for a f500 D role in the $250-$300 range. Early 30s now - comp seems relatively standard for that level and YOE.
