Had this same problem and replaced her with a grandmother who doesn’t have a phone
Agree she should be replaced. But its a good thing my job doesn’t how much Im on my phone too 🤣
Touché
I wouldn't tolerate it. Sorry - I'm not paying you to play on your phone. Shape up or ship out.
Bambino app - has been a game changer for baby sitters!
Need more of this. Tired of care and urban sitter fees.
Had this issue too. Replaced her. Had to increase pay to 30 to be competitive with career nannies in my town but with every penny
We have a no phone policy in our agreement. Would give a warning and replace if it happens again. We had to replace our first nanny for this reason but we’ve since had high school and college aged babysitters/nanny’s that are super engaged.
Welcome to he nanny game. We’ve been lucky (sort of), but always have a few backups. Be specific on the ask, if they don’t do it, time to move on.
Treat it like a business. It’s difficult because it’s so easy to form a personal relationship since they’re with your kid.
This is why I only hire family. I have been fortunate enough to have folks in Africa who were willing to come and help with raising my kids. Grandmas and aunties are the only nannys I trust!
You are not being too critical at all! She is not being paid to be on her phone
OMG Yes! I have to repeatedly tell her to do her job and it’s frustrating. I don’t even report her thinking that she is an old lady but like come on at least show some effort.
