There is a tea called throat relief. Look for a tea with licorice root, marshmallow root. That’s what helps the throat. I sing in a choir, we use this tea for voice strain!
Throat Coat tea, and also this: https://www.chatelaine.com/health/wellness/flu-fighting-tea/ is excellent!
I teach music in elementary so there is singing and speaking co instantly. I also lead worship at a church on sundays for 2 services. I'm in vocal therapy for the nodule that I have developed. get a personal voice amplifier! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MUB91T6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_y9LDDbKHRH8DY
use non verbals...hand signals, sign language, attention getters. have the students develop cognitive skills and make them think as opposed to you telling them. use technology and type it in a PowerPoint. let them read it. I know we are just used to talking but it's a lifestyle change and it will benefit you in the long run.
Always! 16 years strong, and every August...
Dr. Gould's gargle recipe: 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp clear karo syrup, and 6 oz of warm water.
Inhale steam 2-3 minutes prior to gargle. Take a swig and hold it in your mouth until it matches the temp inside your mouth, then gargle as long as you can stand it. don't eat or drink anything for 15-30 minutes ish.
This works wonders for me! I make a cup and keep it in the microwave. Nuke it every time I want to gargle.
Me! And so it begins (stressful situations +poorly behaved students+ingrained low performance+staffing issues+demands from Network leaders who don’t care about SEL but just testing performance= sickness susceptibility. I’m over it all already. There’s has to be a better way.
