You should not feel like you have to drink, regardless of the reason. I want to drink, so I don’t drink. When I go to bars, I just order a coke. If you don’t make a big deal out of it, it is unlikely others will do so.

I like fruity cocktails but am afraid to order them at happy hours out of fear for being judged. The pink flamingo looking ones with an umbrella are fckn delicious. I said what I said. *proceeds to order old fashioned”

Not drinking is fine. Sometime people either feel weird or make others feel weird. Two best tips I’ve heard are 1) soda water with lime and 2) instead of saying “I don’t drink” tell them “I’m not drinking this week/month”. Weird psychology but people tend to make a big deal out of the first but not the second
I used to drink everyday my first year in nyc cause of all the work happy hours and then hanging with friends thursday - sunday. Then I realized no one cares what or how much I drank as long as I’m fun. I’d tell them that I’d go to a workout class after or have some work after and no one would care. Trust me no one cares
Eh, definitely much more socially accepted today than a few years ago. Plenty of advice above (tonic water is great on its own with ice and lime, and obviously looks like a G&T).
If you really get obnoxiously cornered about it, just say you just took a Tylenol and they’ll let you go.
