You should not feel like you have to drink, regardless of the reason. I want to drink, so I don’t drink. When I go to bars, I just order a coke. If you don’t make a big deal out of it, it is unlikely others will do so.

I like fruity cocktails but am afraid to order them at happy hours out of fear for being judged. The pink flamingo looking ones with an umbrella are fckn delicious. I said what I said. *proceeds to order old fashioned”

Coward - show me the sake
Just get a alcohol free cocktail and sip that and no one will know ... if you don’t like alcohol why drink it at all?
PwC, It’s clearly two PPMDs on each other’s shoulders inside a trench coat.

Saying alcohol tastes weird is like saying food tastes weird. One beer tastes different from another (IPA vs Hefeweizen for example), and beer tastes different from vodka tastes different from tequila tastes different from wine...
That being said, if you don’t like drinking because you don’t like how it makes you feel, don’t drink it! Most people respect that these days, and if you’re ever uncomfortable a common solution is to drink club soda with a lime, most people assume at a function that it’s a vodka soda.

You don’t have to! Hence why I said agree to disagree 😊 we can leave it there, can’t we?
What’s wrong with chicken livers!?!?
Consider the Spotlight Effect - really, nobody is paying attention or cares.
Also, Rick et al. (2013) demonstrated that people perceive those holding alcohol as less intelligent.

I dont drink alcohol either. There's nothing wrong with you

Sort of. I usually like the first beer but then it doesn’t taste very good after that. I work with a lot of Mormons and you can just keep ordering some type of soda and they will assume it has alcohol. No problem, people don’t care.

This! If anyone gives me a hard time about it, I just tell them that it gives me acne (which it does) - they always shut up then. No one wants acne.
“No one wants acne” is an unexpectedly compelling argument. Words to live by.
I'm in the same boat where I definitely am not a fan of the taste of alcohol since it tastes sour and bitter, so I also am a slow drinker and sip on drinks. My thinking is just to have a drink in hand for social situations just to fit in. If I'm at a bar and don't feel like drinking, I usually ask the bartender for water with a slice of lime on the side so it looks like an alcoholic drink. I don't get any hangovers or have any bad effects from drinking, but if I do get asked why I'm not drinking more my go-to excuse is I have something the next morning/day
I enjoy cocktails but hate how easily I get a hangover- so I have just gotten into a one drink habit or club soda with lime
Me! I’ve always hated drinking even in college but did it because that’s how my friends hung out. I lost friends since because they like going on weekend trips to wine tours and I hate it :( I’ve tried red and white wines, all different types of beers, and all the liquors and they all have the aftertaste that tastes like how I imagine nail polish remover would.
Plus I turn really red after 1 drink (I’m Asian) and also get brain fog the next day even if I just have 1! I guess I’ll just be boring forever
THISSSS yes
I wish I was more like you! I don’t care if others drink or don’t. If you don’t like it don’t do it and don’t allow other people’s opinion make you do things you don’t want to.

As a drinker, do whatever you like. I certainly don’t judge non-drinkers and I really don’t care if they judge me. No one should assess personal choices.
I feel so sick the next day if I have anything over 1 1/2 drinks. Or if I have 1 drink 2 nights in a row. Lol. So I do drink but I feel weird about the fact that I can’t “keep up.” People said stuff about it in my MBA program, and I think that still bothers me. But not enough to drink more.

Definitely healthier - good job . Not to send you down the wrong path but perhaps yoy have a taste for another alcohol? Fine champagne? gin and tonic? Cosmo?
I am the same way

Sounds like you got bigger problems if you're drinking for others
