ASL? There is some good people in the bowl. Maybe someone will see you.
Please don’t.
@EY I was in your situation, felt very lonely etc. just kept praying and putting in effort. After Ramadan 2021, literally got married in the most unpredictable way lol. Just keep making lots of dua and don’t give up. I recall praying tahajjud for a whole year (or more can’t even remember now) like every single day. Very happy now that I have found my partner alhamdulilah.
If you are a brother, you must take the lead most of the time, if you like someone who ticks most of the list, you’ll have to do the chasing and convincing (and this is true even after you get married, gotta be the leader in every way every day) and if you are a sister, just keep putting yourself out there. Reach out to friends and family to see if they know someone, make it known and clear that you are looking to get married and keep working on yourself, it’ll happen inshaAllah, we have been created in pairs :) it’s just a matter of time

Is your wife a hijabi and is she pious
Don't be sad :) It often happens when you don't expect it at all. I met my wife on one of those apps and we got married less than a year later! And honestly, when I matched with her on the app, I didn't really think this would lead anywhere.
In parallel, you should maybe look out for a mosque with a strong community. Some mosques organise really fun stuff, like hiking, cycling, or trips, and when you talk to the sisters there, they may know someone they can introduce you to.
I’m with you. While I approach everything with grace, I also find it tough…it can feel lonely and it’s valid. I’ve been better about lowering expectations when I come across anyone now to reduce any self inflicting disappointment. It does help that I take part in community kickball to get my mind off it - no advice here just sharing your sentiments 🫂 ❣️

Get on Salams or Muzz
Thanks everyone! I have been on the apps for some time. Hate to be cynical but I’m almost beginning to think these apps show us non-compatible profiles on purpose so we stay on them longer 😭

I also met my wife on muzmatch(muzz) and have so many direct friends who had success on it as well. I definitely think it's the best one of all for muslims and IA do encourage you to stay dedicated. I can understand the emotional up and down but IA it'll be worth it.
Thank you everyone for all the wonderful feedback! It is truly inspiring hearing the stories of the successful matches!
Agree with not limiting myself to the apps! I’ve actually gotten very involved with my local mosque community in the past few years and am very active in multiple capacities. I’ve been wanting to do something more meaningful with my time since post-pandemic and felt this was the best way to do it. Let’s see what it leads to in this area of life as well iA!
I can relate - but I’m not giving up on love and companionship. When the time is right everything will come together. Don’t lose hope. May Allah be with you always.
Salam OP. You are not alone. 29F and I feel the same way. There are days where I just feel alone and wish I had a partner with share things with. People on the apps do not put in effort and it’s exhausting.
