Felt it immediately after moving from New York to Chicago. It was more than just location causing it, but one of the most effective ways I dealt with it was to move back to New York.

Oh, I just thought my depression came with me when I moved. You’re saying there’s more?

I felt it when I moved from Florida to Colorado. For me it was missing my friends and the thought I was missing out on special moments with them. I guess the only thing I could really do to deal was to go back and visit but also have them come visit. I also met new people and found new hobbies. I eventually made the move back to Florida but again after I moved back to Florida the depression came on because I missed Colorado lol. But over time I became happy being in Florida and back home with my friends/family.
The grass is always greener! You moved for a reason, right? Approach your new location with curiosity and a positive attitude - everywhere has something to offer. Once you find your new coffee shop/group of friends/favorite grocery store you will start to put down roots and the sadness will fade a bit
