You don’t have ANY friends at all that can come watch the kitten for a few days? They just need to come feed it and play with it for a bit like twice a day
If it is really just a day or two I would set up a camera, auto litter box, water filtering fountain, and an automatic feeder. Make sure there are tons of toys and kitten-proof the house. It is more beneficial when you have multiple cats, but a couple days should be fine.
How old is your kitten? We started dropping ours off at 5 months at Wag DFW by the airport. It’s pricey but your kitty gets a room to itself, not a cage, and a lot of attention. Some people also just have a cat sitter but I’m hesitant to have a rando in my house
I know you don’t like strangers, you can always set up a cam and have it record and you can check in. My sister lets her friend come and watch the cat while she can observe. There’s also wag too. I’d offer but I totally get not wanting strangers in the home! Just a few suggestions
When we went out of town for a week, we got autofeeders for the cats (granted 2 cats that are 8-9 vs a kitten is different) and set up them to feed in the morning and evening.
We also got a wifi pet treat dispenser to give them treats through out the day.
We also had a family member that they have met and were comfortable around, come mid week to make sure that the feeders weren't empty and to play with them for an hour or two. also to bring in any mail that came and just do a general check on the house.
