arguably better in consulting **
I had a few folks who worked in top consulting firms summer with me. They all went back to consulting, despite the law school investment lol.
I’m not a former consultant, just normal lawyer and my summer class had a decent amount for some reason. They all seem happy with their decision to stick with consulting, granted it’s been a few years so many have since exited consulting too.

I’m a lawyer and my sister is a consultant. I think we work about the same amount, except she works more during the week w no weekend work, and I work more during the weekends. The consultants seem more social / fun then lawyers. But I don’t think I could handle the constant travel.

I was an entry level consultant at an “elite boutique” strategy consulting firm considered a pier of MBB in the industry it focused on.
I left because I got into a T6, I hated traveling every week and I just didn’t think I’d ever be a great consultant because math / excel / data analysis is not my strong suit. I also wasn’t sure I could exit into a role I really wanted or that I had the skill set or motivation to get into a top MBA program.
The pay then (and I believe still) is also a good deal lower I believe at all levels, on average.
