Anyone know of any good virtual tutors? I used to send my son to Kumon, but my schedule no longer allows it.

Dad passed away 2 months ago. I traveled to India and stayed for 2 months, dealt with significant red tape to close his cards, loans, transfer pensions, etc. A succession certificate is WIP for one of his accounts, so mom decided to stay back until it’s done. Mom has always refused to hire a maid, loves to hoard, cleans superficially, the house is always a mess when I visit and all my India trips are spent cleaning including this one. I’ve fought with her a ton over the last two months as well..

I’m in this business to cure my inferiority complex. Making lots of money, working with fortune 500 clients and walking the streets of NYC with a suit, tie and briefcase makes me feel important and worthy.

I often wish I could be like my law school friends who either moved to small towns or have public sector or non profit jobs, wear sweaters and jeans to work and make far less than me, but are happy with their lives, feel a sense of meaning with their work and don’t need external validation.

For those that are the children of immigrants or are an immigrant themselves-what’s the greatest lesson that you’ve learned from your upbringing/family that you now apply to your career & life?

I got laid off and not sure if I should find a place cheaper to live by myself and pay rent with UI for couple of months while studying or go back home where family is and contribute much less than I will be spending living alone to parents for rent. I will be saving a lot. Problem is younger sister who is mentally draining and steals my things, makes nasty comments towards me lives there and her bedroom will be right next to mine. She once got me arrested for no reason. What should I do?

My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. Her knowledge of the program certainly built trust with me early on, but it has been two years. I discussed it with my current therapist but she’s still in there. Any advice?

my sister died this morning. I posted about her in a past post. Alcohol addiction, liver failure and then it taxed the kidneys too much, she went into cardiac arrest at 9 am and they could not save her. She was 51. Sad day for sure. Feels odd that she is no longer here. I just wish she could have had a better future.

My family mistreated me when I was younger, and now that I don’t live at home, they don’t call or bother to look for me, because frankly, I think they have a hard time admitting what happened - and will never apologize to me either. If I don’t call, or occasionally go see them during the holidays, we would never talk. Some of them are growing old (health-wise), and I’m scared this entire situation is just irreparable. I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns.
