Salaries would be comparable (Lilly would most likely be a little more with bonuses), but if the culture sucks, I’d hate to burn a bridge with Envigo.

My dilemma… I am an injury adjuster at a carrier experiencing high inventory that’s barely manageable. A competitor offered a higher salary and manageable workload. BUT, I would like to get into underwriting. I applied for UW position w/ a different carrier and they’ve made an offer. It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Never been in an SE or consulting or B2B sales role before but have a referral at Salesforce and have been in some informal conversations. I’m starting to freak out a bit now that maybe I can’t do it. I have a tech background so can handle that part, but perhaps strategy may be difficult. Anyone make the transition to an SE role that have some advice?

Is it common for an SE to need to do analyst-style research for a POV/POC? This research helps guides our team of analysts in configuring the product’s environment for the POC. As an SE, I’m tasked with this research since I’m customer-facing but our analysts are not. Idea being that I can apply knowledge of the customer’s requirements.

I feel like I was straight up lied to during the interview process. “lots of opportunities to hit quota”. I’m sitting here with only one demo two months after joining the company. it looks like our team has only two people doing demos, and demos are only happening once every two weeks. At this rate, I don’t think I’ll be even close to hitting OTE. Are there any other companies hiring right now? I’ll have a discussion about my concerns with my manager soon, but there’s too many red flags here.
