Sales is a good starting point to eventually become a Chief Operating Officer. Go out on LinkedIn, find COOs who started in sales and them to mentor you.
Depends on what you want to do. What would be an ideal role for you? There’s always a pathway to that position.
Honestly, I’m trying to figure that out. I think I would eventually like being involved in developing strategy and/or M&A. I’m working toward my MBA in International Business right now. I’m more of a relationships kind of person. That’s how I approach sales. Slow starting, but once people trust me, or believe I am truly there to assist them, it creates long term, loyal customers.
How does someone get into medical sales? I worked in the medical field for 7 years and switched to SaaS where I’ve been for 8 years now. CSM for 4 of those andI’m working for Property management Solution company. I don’t enjoy accounting software and would love to get into a new industry. Any advice or companies to look into?
Honestly, I kind of fell into it, so Im not the best to ask. I built professional relationships with people while I was in the military. They had retired and started a medical device company focused on the sort of devices we used in combat. I reconnected with them when I was coming close to the end of my time in service, and was able to secure a position within the company selling the same products I had experience using while deployed.
