Been mentoring a lower income high school student the past couple years and they are heading to college this fall without a lot of parental or financial support but they work very hard and Was hoping to give them a short book or two to try to help them understand investing. Any recommendations?

Tell them to go to community college instead of debt

likehelpful

I think they will thank you for crushing.

Show them total debt after 4 year, monthly payments for their debt, then ask them to make a hypothetical budget with entry level salaries in their field.

Then show them the cost of taking the 2+2 route.

Assuming no parental contributions and the pell grant, CC should be free + spending money.

Unless they are going to a top university studying stem, this is simply not worth it.

If you can is a very short book. simple Path to Wealth is a good one also

Love that you're doing this and going beyond the ask! Understanding personal finance, how student loans work, and how compound interest works via investing will set them up well. Also a good reminder for them to not get caught up in lifestyle inflation.

Is my relationship worth it? Met my SO of 3 years senior year of college. Hoped we would graduate and start our full time jobs together, but my SO is unfortunately still in school (switched majors, transferred schools, etc). Our relationship has taken a big hit, as I am moving forward with my life but he is still in school and can’t find a job. I am also starting to resent him and he is turning more insecure. I am only 23, is this worth it?

This might be philosophical but wanted to understand if we should get satisfied and be happy with what we have or keep striving for more?

Reason I am asking this is - I earn close to 1.5 lakhs every month and if someone had told me this during my college days I would have taken it eyes closed thinking this is more than enough. But today, I am not able to be satisfied and I don't want this to become an affliction so thought to share with others here and get to know the general sentiments.
