Hello Everyone,
I am a fresher with over 9+ months of experience as a Data Engineer at Tata Consultancy .
I just needed some suggestions from you experienced folks.🙏
In my current project my colleagues have over 6+ years of experience and are not very supportive and scold me for unnecessary reasons, which is effecting my mental health.😔
Also I am not getting to learn anything.

I recently joined TCS but I was moved into very different project which was told during hiring. Also they told me for joining incentive but later after 65 days of joining they didn't give saying your business aproval got rejected. I really want to be with TCS but due to project dissatisfaction, I am looking for different job. I am not sure if I can leave the organisation soo soon(4 months) and it should not effect my carrier.

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Are you really going to choose your client over your life? Set firm boundaries, then work to reneg/offer the original project deadline.
Take your vacation. Is there someone else on your team that can cover for you? If you end up having to cancel, make sure you get in writing that you will get reimbursed. But that should be plan b.
Just tell him you can can’t reschedule and that everything is non refundable.
Update, taking the vacation as planned. My team will be able to handle the workload - vacation is in 4 weeks' time so we have plenty of time to prepare the team for my responsibilities. Not letting them take away planned time with my partner, also leaving the company before the next YE review :) they can hold it against me if they wish

Well done OP.
Not being able to take vacation + being constantly harassed during said vacation is one of the top reasons I’ll never go back to consulting. Just took a 12 day vacation without my work laptop or phone…it was amazing
Fires for doing something you were approved to do? Now that doesn’t make sense and could probably be a lawsuit.
Come another way though - I agree with the post about find a backup and lay out the plan. Have a chat with the Partner and how it will close and if possible may be do a daily check in to confirm all good ?

Prob yea.
1.) can you get anyone to fill in for you?
2.) can the project get pushed another week?
3.) what’s the impact if it’s pushed another week?
4.) did the partner say there will be consequences if you don’t yield? If so, (hopefully you got it in writing/recorded), what does HR have to say about it?
Ask them to refund all the costs and also pay for the new vacation you will take later as a gift
Will they expense any lost costs for you and your partner in event of no refund? If not then 100% no. If yes, up to you but I’d focus on training a fill in. Boundaries

How was this presented to the partner?
Did you say I have PTO next week and the partner asked you to push it?
Or did you say I have a non-refundable trip booked with my partner and they asked you to cancel it?
Dont be a deloitussy

I’d imagine there’s a team to carry the work to the finish line. It’s reasonable for the partner to ask, but not expect or hold it against you to take the vacation as planned. If it escalates, I’d ask the partner to approve expenses to cover any and all costs associated with rebooking, honestly.
Ya I’d just say unless the firm wants to pay for the whole new trip it’s a no
Lazy partner should be trying to find someone to cover for you if your PTO is already booked.
We are not doing open heart surgery here. Sure you can help create a contingency plan that helps everyone. That demonstrates leadership and ownership on your part. Good luck.
When’s vacation and do you have someone who can backfill? And how much notice were you given when the client pushed the timeline back a week?
Either way, it’s your time and your vacation. You can’t get fired, but the PPMD or SM can hold it against you in a snapshot, but if you have a good coach they’ll support you and make sure it’s truly not held against you at YE.
If it were me, I’d take the vacation.
Have an open and productive conversation.
1. Start with the empathy card; this is a huge inconvenience to my partner and not withstanding the financial impact. Surely the company had ample notice to work through this.
2. Is this truely a situation that calls for such urgency?
3. If there is no one else, what are the impacts should I choose to be unable to change?
4. Is the firm prepared to refund my costs, and costs associated to rebooking the difference? Will the firm provide their resources / travel bookings to address this inconvenience?
