It would be 64-6=58/40
There's no minus 6. It's just 58/40.
Chargeable hours out of 40. So 58/40, you'd have over 100% utilization for the week.
Yep, you're right
Admin or even business development, prof development, etc do not count in utilitixation. Only thing that counts is chargeable hours.
Because the firm doesn't get revenue for your admin time. Chargeable hours are used to determine recognition of revenue.
Isn't it (58-6)/40?
Why minus 6?
Thanks guys! Why minus 6? I did 58 client charge hrs, 6 of admin ( general meetings, other admin stuff that needed to be done) so why remove that from utilization?
Yeah I would agree that those shouldn't count so 58/40. But for the top answers 58-6/40 definitely counts negatively on utilization?
Utilization at Deloitte is total actual client service hours over budgeted client service hour goals. So the denominator changes depending on the period. For example, I had 60 CSH this week over a goal of 55 CSH = 109%. This is calculated on a YTD and annual basis in promotion and compensation discussions.
Are we able to access our own utilization or we have to calculate it manually from time reports and scheduling? If not, seems like another way our performance metrics are not transparent to us.
At PwC you can access through MyMetrics, no manual calculation required.
At EY it shows up in your taskbar. You can click on the # for more details.
