Currently a District Manager for General Motors. Within the last 6 months I’ve earned my MBA , PMP and Six Sigma GreenBelt. My dream career is to become a management consultant but I am having troubles with getting an interview/ role. Does anyone have any leads or opportunities within a consulting firm?

I am in the process of finishing up my MBA but considering also getting my SPHR or PHR cert. Is it even worth it or a waste of time and money?

What do you wish you knew before moving to Australia or NZ? Seriously considering applying for an internal transfer but I'd like to know what I'm getting into first. Researching as well just asking for first hand experiences from consultants who have done it.

Life / Career Advice: I applied to medical school since my MCAT score was set to expire, ended up getting into 1 program. I also have an opp to join a well funded/well established Healthtech Startup (6 figure salary w/ equity + benefits) as a BD professional. I enjoy the business side of things and am unsure if I would end up practicing Medicine (medicine is also a long arduous path). At the same time, having an MD holds a lot of clout/authority in HC. Any thoughts on what I should do?

As a law student interested in going into the field I’ve seen a lot of negative comments saying that only lawyers who couldn’t get into big law go into PA. Although I know most people try to get into big law initially, it is very competitive and many don’t stay past 2-3 years. You certainly don’t make as much going into PA as a lawyer but the pay is certainly not bad and the WLB is generally much better. Can anyone speak to how they got into PA and if you would rather be working in Big Law

Hey looking to shift to healthcare consulting from pharma/academia and wanted to see if anyone had any advice

My wife is in sales at Mercedes and she has been averaging $200k a year and growing YoY. She loves her job, however she works long days and barely gets time off. We plan on having kids within the next year or two, and it’s highly u likely that she’ll be able to keep her current gig. We want to find a career that allows her to work remote or that at least gives her a better work life balance so that she can see her kids grow up. Should she get certifications to give her a shot at adtech?Too late?

Reviewing a salary offer for a Benefits Manager position in Greensboro, NC industry is retail. Offer made of $95k with 18% bonus. I have 16 YOE, degree in Business, and PHR and Shrm certification. I’m so burned out and not sure what to do. 29 in Texas. I am currently a Deli Manager. My experience is in banking, real estate, shipping and receiving, caregiving and the obvious retail. Unfortunately I struggle getting a job due to a deferred adjudication on my record for theft. It was dismissed but it still pops up I have 4 more years before I can seal the record. Idk what I could do and still make a living.

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. I’m torn because the opportunity is great but the stress was awful. Continued in comments…

Today I got the job offer and they are offering me 54k. My current company is making me 50k with tons of benefits which is why I am asking for 60k.

I have an offer for a company abroad. Originally they wanted me to fly out and start the day after Thanksgiving (not celebrated in their country), but because of the holidays I suggested starting in either December or January with the ability to take some holiday days in December to fly back home for Christmas. Anyone struggling with imposter syndrome? When I worked for a very well known Fortune500 tech company I couldn't help but feel major imposter syndrome. One- I am a woman in a male dominated industry, I didn't go to a prestigious school like most of my peers and I just didn't think I deserved to be there. Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
