I was on a tour but where I asked a couple of older women sitting behind me to speak softly as it was 6:30 am in the morning. After that they kept saying loudly that i’m smelling and that i need to use deo and that i should keep my arm down. I confronted them later and they said respect your elders?? Recent lateral junior associate in brand new practice where I'm the only associate. I'm probably going to bill 1,500 hours max this year due to being very slow and taking time off for a delayed honeymoon which I disclosed during my interview process. Does having planned time off nullify a full time employee’s ability to use the C19 sick leave if they become sick just prior to the planned time off? Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

According to California Law, employers must pay unused vacation. Each year, we are given 33 days of holidays, no accrual. I was just laid off and my employer only paid half of my vacation because it’s mid year. Is this legal?

In hibob it says I had 32.5 days accrued.

Taking Concerta in the AM doesn’t give me enough coverage for the whole day. I take it the moment my alarm goes off in the morning at (usually) 6am. Which is great for my morning, but by 3pm I’m starting to fray apart, bouncing around between tasks and getting progressively more distractible and demotivated.
