Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Yes-- because you never know if your opinion will change or they may think of you for a different role.
Yes, absolutely!
Networking is not linear. Think like sales & account management. You go in, you meet the people who can make decisions. You find out what they are looking for, and what they value.
Maybe your flagship product (ie, full-time employment) meets their needs. But maybe, even if it doesn't, there are other ways you can help each other out.
You could land some freelance, or introduce a better candidate, or just help leave enough of a mark on their princess that others down the line can feel the difference.
Interviews aren't solely about walking out with a job.

I try to suss out the salary first before committing to an interview. Need to find out if it’s even worth my time.
Yes. Practiced makes perfect. And you might just learn your worth a lot more than you thought.
Another valuable reason to do so.
As an applicant, you not only need a job ...
You also benefit from practicing, from contact, and from the morale boost.
Let's face it, it's nice to be pursued. And if you are looking for a job? Then for one reason or another, you need to know you are valued.
personally for me i'm in my mid-40's and have worked at 6 agencies and 4 F500 companies so unless the comp is worth it (a lot of times it hasn't been the case even with a higher title) or the brand is something i'd be proud to work for, i usually pass. i'm content with my current company and the strength of the relationships and reputation i've built. i would not make a move for lateral pay just to have to start all over again someplace new.
