Does anyone else regret staying in the digital advertising career? I wish I could have worked in law, healthcare, accounting. Media feels so fake and full of s***. But I’m 27 and I feel too old to enter an entirely new industry/career.

Fellow enterprise tech sales fish, I’m interested to hear your perspective. I’ve been in a rut lately and seriously considering leaving sales. I think it’s primarily fueled by one thing:
After a 6 mo cycle I closed a large deal (4x the average deal size) prior to receiving delayed 2022 comp plans. The deal counts as a 2022 deal. On last years comp plan it would’ve paid out at 10%. This year it pays out at a measly 4%.

How do you/have you navigated your way through and out of these situations?

Is it wrong that I’m just not into PE/VC? It seems to be the most desirable exit for most people that I work with. I got a job as a infrastructure consultant right out of college 3 years ago and later became a solutions architect at the company I am at now. I have a degree in CS and never really got the chance to use my programming skills (Java, python, Springboot framework).
