27 is nothing. I know someone who left copywriting to go to nursing school at 40. Dont hold yourself back!
But to start over and re enter the workforce in a new industry would most likely cut my salary in half
You can pivot at anytime… don’t let age hold you back
yes as long as you don’t care about taking a pay cut
Exactly. 🫵🏼. Get out while you can.
I'm a media buyer and roll my eyes on the time at the sh*t I see. Pretty much everyone is phony including the CEOs.
10 years from now, would you think you should’ve started 10 years ago? I think you should create your own path. You’re the one living your life and know what it would take to make you happy.
You are NOT too old. You have a good 30+ years of a career in front of you. If you feel this way now it will only get worse. Make the change today! Best of luck.
I came from accounting.. wouldn't trade it for the world. That entire industry is disgustingly boring and I wouldn't leave my current role to go back for it for a 50% increase. Grass is always greener on the other side, remember.
If you know the industry isn’t for you, make the jump now bc you are young (vs doing it in your 40’s). It may be worth considering adjacent careers (in-house marketing, sales) in an industry you are interested in (healthcare), or working on a client in that industry. It’s also worth considering the opportunity costs (advanced education costs, time out of market during schooling, etc.) of going back to school to be a lawyer, nurse, accountant, etc. But the longer you wait, the harder it will be.
being a lawyer sounds worse to me but go for it
