One of my favorite things is that we have an employer match in every paycheck and we are immediately vested.

likefunny

It’s not an employer match. It’s safe harbor so you get it whether you contribute or not. But yes, every paycheck and immediately vested.

Be weary of the unlimited PTO. Pros and cons, like anything else.

Also with this likely merger between Tilly and Adams, no guarantees on *anything*

What do busy season hours look like at BT?

like

Like many other things, it depends on your team. My industry group has 'peak season' for both our 6/30s and our 12/31s, so we schedule 50 hour weeks for Aug-mid Oct and late Jan-early April. Other industries are only really busy for 12/31 so they schedule 55's but just in the winter. Obviously actual hours can vary based on deadlines and unexpected circumstances, but that's what I see where I'm at. I'm sure there are other industries/services lines that vary.

I’ve taken a month and a half of pto every year

Only professionals get unlimited PTO. Admin staff don’t, and have to use their limited PTO for sick time as well.

what's the accrual like for admins?

Yes they do, I have a friend who works there and says thats one of the perks of working there.

Does baker tilly pay current or a week in arrears?

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

We are seeing more pushback from employees on working 40 hours. We offer flexibility (wfh), 11 holidays and another 3 wks PTO. Seems like a good gig, I think, at 40-45 hrs. Anyone seeing this too?

Amerisourcebergen doesn't care about its employees. We have no mental health awareness. When drafting a brief or other submissions for court or arbitration, do you use words such as clearly, erroneously, etc. to emphasize certain points? Our managing partner says that we should, but all of the writing guides for litigators that I've read repeats the mantra "show, don't tell" and explain that most judges dread such words.

I know that the politically correct thing to do here is to do whatever the managing partner wants me to do, but I just wanted to ask for other ppl's opinion.
