EY Deloitte PwC people - would you leave your current employer for a 15%-25% total comp difference? This translates to a 25-45k difference per annum, largely driven by bonus at the new firm (20-40%), much smaller than my current employer. Doesn’t feel like a great exit opportunity - currently at big 4 this would be moving to a niche consulting company

A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

It helps. But there's more to your career than being really really ridiculously good looking.
Definitely. Malcolm Gladwell stats show specifically that height is an important qualification for CEO.
Absolutely
I'm a decently good looking woman (also look pretty young) and I definitely think that my coworkers either consciously or subconsciously take it easier on me because of that. In 3 years, I've never been chewed out or even slightly admonished - like legit never gotten any criticism. Even when I do screw up, seems like my team tries to protect me. And any "negative" feedback starts with "this is really great and I love ____ , but could we try ____"
Similar to white privilege, though not as extreme, there is definitely a level of good looking privilege. Welcome to the world! Best you can control is your clothes, grooming, hygiene, and weight (maybe).
I'm an alright looking guy I suppose, but one thing I've been told is that I have a "strong presence" - posture, body language, eye contact, and speaking in an organized and clear fashion really helps how people perceive you too.
Definitely. I also have a theory that I have tested- good looking + good energy. On the days that I have good energy, I get treated as well as my good looking days. The combo= I get anything I want. It is actually kind of sickening and sad when I think about it
Being a beautiful woman is both a blessing AND a curse. I also look a lot younger than I am. I'm 32 and when I joined a new project a few months ago, the manager told me that he thought I was fresh out of undergrad. The problem was, he TREATED me like I was fresh out of undergrad. He got removed from the project ... 😏
There have been various studies that show direct correlation between how good a person looks with career growth
Absolutely! To quote rock gods Bowling 4 Soup, high school never ends
YAAAAAAASSS
I've noticed that partners always seem to want to help and provide career guidance to attractive female BTAs...🤔
The young thing is really interesting. I'm now 30 and I notice a night and day difference between how I was treated as a hot 25 year old. I've been wondering if wearing a wedding ring has anything to do with it- less ability to leverage the flirt factor.
Correlation might be spurious. Being good looking is a choice. Grooming, dress, physique are all choices that make you attractive, and could be indicators for having your shit together and doing better in your career
@BAH2 facial structure and height contribute to "good looking", but certainly aren't by choice...
Agree with D9- pros and cons, but in my experience, the pros outweigh the cons
That's crazy 😇
It only helps. Also a book written by a Princeton economist on this topic
Don't know if it helps, but it sure doesn't hurt. It's hard to be upset at eye candy.
I've seen that looking young also helps. If you look naive people take it easier on you
