Interviewed at Deloitte, PwC and EY for Advisory Senior Consultant role. Deloitte offered $105K (plus $5K bonus), PWC offered $127K (plus $15K bonus) and EY offered $155K (plus $10K bonus). Surprised with the difference in pay between Deloitte & EY for same role. Is Deloitte Advisory paying less compared to other firms? 4.5YOE in Consulting.

PTO does indeed impact util. Anything time that you are not working that client work will impact util
So the time I'm off wouldn't make my utilization fall?
Checked-doesn't talk about 2017
Sorry to bust ya bubble kid. General rule: if not client service hours or some oddball that hits adjusted util (like PRD) then it's going to negatively impact util. But that's why you bill 45 hours on client. The extra 5 a week covers the PTO hours you get biweekly. (In theory)
@Deloitte1 wh are these people looking to.hire you
Also do you know if we have Jan 2 off?
No, and check the calendar/Deloittenet
At KPMG I believe it does. Best to take PTO when you're on the bench
😩😩😩😩
Your util is based on client service hours( or any fpx codes)/2080. Your pto reduces your ability to bill client service hours. So effectively, yes PTO impacts util.
Download the utilization tracker from dnet and weep, but be informed! I
@OP we have Jan 2 off -- I checked a long time ago since it's my bday
Ur utilization percentage target is based off a 2080 hour work year. Every hour not billed to client service counts against you - even holidays.
It doesn't really count against you. It just Dorsnt help you.
Every hour of pto you take in lieu of client hours drops your utilization.
Take your target utilization. Multiply by 2080. If you bill at least that many hours. You are good.
Or you give up caring like I did. Got promoted at 70% util, if I get fired I would just go to the 3 other people who contacted me this week looking to hire me
K1 - It doesn't affect utilization for us. KPMG promotes taking PTO and hence they introduced adjusted utilization concept last year. Please educate yourself regarding firm policies. Also KPMG has off on 2nd Jan. 😉
I believe holidays are the only time off that does not count against utilization.
They only don't count against you if you are fully staffed for the rest of the year
