Every time I hug this one good guy friend he hugs me by barely touching me - like I am diseased. Butt way out behind him so just his arms are around me. I’ve noticed he doesn’t do this with other female friends of ours. It makes me more uncomfortable b/c it’s so awkward and weird. What gives?

Last night I went over to my friends house (she has 2 kids, 2 and 4 yo). She and her husband were asking me about my pregnancy and planning. And were asking what I’ve prepped to date. I’m only 13w2 days so I think it’s way to early for buying stuff, but I did mention we hired a baby nurse for when the baby comes. My friend completely berated me, short of calling me a bad mom already, saying “what is she going to do all day? Don’t you want to bond with your child?”. I’m so upset by this.

My gf and me call each other everytime we have free time. However lately she seems disinterested in phone time. She never initiates calls anymore and she tells me she wants to hang up in the middle of the day and not right before bedtime. We live a 4 hour drive apart. And I told her this is like living together from a distance, because I put her on the house speakers. What can I do to keep her engaged?

He went from waking up multiple times during night and taking only 30 minute naps 3 times during day (most cases nursed to sleep or rocked to sleep or took a drive) to sleeping 12 hours at night without interruption and two 2 hour naps and one 45 minutes nap during day. Dyslexia! After having our kindergartener son tested (privately) related to ADHD, we were told he may have dyslexia too (which would explain why he struggles so much with phonics but is amazing at sight words). He has a very high IQ. As a voracious reader, I am finding myself unexpectedly distraught that something that I have loved so much will be such a struggle for him, and worrying that it will affect his motivation and may steer him away from things he may otherwise love.

Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good?
