I have a love-hate relationship with DU.
A bit extreme, still relatable

but today has just been difficult because i gradually feel like I lose presence if I am not throwing up unnecessary questions left and and right😔
There's other ways to make your presence known. For example, in the meeting room I lean in, make eye contact speaker, and listen closely. The client and your team can tell that you're engaged and participating. When you do speak up, it's more effective.
The best leaders are listeners first!
I usually need time to digest information before I have real input, and I especially struggle providing meaningful input in a bigger group. But I’ve learned I’m better one-on-one, and I’ve occasionally influenced outcomes by getting individuals to see my viewpoint who can communicate it better than I can in group settings. (Obviously I still need to work on communication.)
I feel you OP. I have to plan things to say for meetings because a lot of times nothing comes to me organically that I feel is of any value (or I think of it too late and then feel awkward bringing the conversation back). I don’t have any great advice since I struggle with the same thing, just saying you’re not alone, hang in there!
Move to a smaller consultancy with more lean and impactful teams. Much better
What consultancies do you have in mind?
I'd recommend that you build good relationships and provide insights to both your clients as well as leadership. You can discuss ahead of time or dive deeper after the meeting on certain areas you want to expand on. If you keep this up, they know you can contribute and may even call on you during the meeting to speak up.
Wow thank you for all the advice and support! Having a huge session with the client today and will try the tips given!
