For my pcos ladies on metformin, interesting news article. Be careful out there. The good news I hear is that metformin leaves the body pretty quickly so in 2 days you won't have it in you anymore. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/victoriaforster/2020/04/05/researchers-warn-that-covid-19-treatment-t

I have 10 years experience out of uni, as well as completed CPA and MBA. I have a experience in managing entire finance function of small/medium entities, but most notably solid corporate finance experience/strategy leading refinance exercises, debt raising, hedging/treasury strategy etc…Would be looking for something in deal advisory / M&A / CFO advisory etc….thanks Deloitte EY PwC @

Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

Don’t drink at all. It catches up with you skin wise
I don’t drink but I’ll eat an edible each night and I’ll be completely brain dead and useless for the first 3-4 meetings of my day
Damn I want to work with you! 😂
Similar, I finish a bottle of wine over two nights most weeks.
Perfectly normal-sometimes a glass or a bottle
Travel week = 2-6 drinks a night. Not sure why but ability to say no to a drink on the road is impossible.
Not out of stress though, they just sound good.
I’m with you. Nothing better than a few hotel beers.
I’ve almost done with drinking...but recently resume thanks for overworking
If I was still a drinker, I’d be doing that at least 1-3 times a week working here. 5 years sober now. Didn’t come here to preach but to say: I do not blame anyone for drinking away the stress…but there are alternatives when you get tired of the hangovers, “beer fears” and lack of sleep after.
EY - I’ll check out that ebook. I’ve heard of CA sober before and like the idea of it. Thanks for advice!
Chief
I have a drink or two 1-3 nights a week. Usually on the weekends
I’ve found that if you’re preoccupied with the amount you and other are drinking, there’s a good shot you’ve got a chair waiting for you in AA when you’re ready.
I say this as someone who had a chair waiting for me 10 years ago btw. Please DM if I can be of any help
A nice pour of bourbon or a few beers usually Wednesday
I don’t drink alcohol, but do consume coffee/caffeinated tea 2-3x a day (sometimes as late as 8/9pm).
1 - 4 glasses of diluted wine / whiskey during the week if I’m not busy
The whiskey is just with ice though, I’m not that bad haha!
As much as this hell hole drives me to it, I limit this to Fridays and Saturdays (and then def have whole bottle. Need to numb the pain). Alcohol has too big of an impact on sleep during the week, though. Also work too late to have any and since wine is my relaxation thing, I don’t like to drink while working.
I don’t see this as a problem, but I am from a fairly high drinking culture. If you feel you might have a problem, speak to a professional. Thinking you might could be because you are seeing negative consequences and aren’t sure how to cope - psychologist can help with healthier coping mechanisms.
And then theres me whose family will worry when i drink 1 glass if soda in a few days
Not unusual.
Also Naltrexone is effective.
Maybe have one or two drinks every other month on a weekend day, sometimes not even rhat
I’ll have a beer or two maybe 3-4 nights in a month
