It is a lot! It took me a good 6 months of reflection, research, and about a month of therapy, to help get comfortable with myself.
The most important things I learned on my journey are (1) it’s not my fault. I don’t take longer on things bc I’m stupid or don’t care, it’s bc my brain works differently and thats okay, in fact, sometimes it’s a strength. In other words, self compassion; and (2) stress and junk food exacerbate ADHD symptoms, so I absolutely must sleep, take my vitamins/supplements, eat healthy and exercise. There’s a very interesting science behind the way stress depletes certain chemicals necessary for executive functioning. Knowing that helped me better understand the importance of self care, and identify what self care should look like.
Recognizing these 2 things have been the most helpful to me. Good luck and I hope you find clarity and a system that enables you to maximize your potential with your symptoms - I think that is the “now what” - find your system

The first is to give yourself some grace.

Absolutely! Acknowledgment is the first step. You are not neurotypical. So what works for NT’s won’t necessarily work for you, no matter how bad you want it. But that’s ok. Because the goal isn’t to do the task a way a NT would, it’s to get the task done.
For work product, I do not use the actual deadline. That is useless to me. I break tasks into sub components and set mini deadlines for each of those. I then budget my working hours against everything on my to do list and adjust as needed.
I wouldn’t get too into the books and podcasts and stuff. You’ll convince yourself you have symptoms you don’t have
