Got an offer for a sales applications manager role at Cisco and a Strategic AE role at Amazon - both are basically the same pay (130~ base, 220 OTE)
I don’t have any friends at either company so I was curious if anyone has experience and can shed some light on culture/ work life balance to help me make a decision? Thanks for the help guys!

Salary does vary widely, largely because your compensation will include equity and year end bonus. That’s why many take an initial salary cut but come out earning more long term. You’ll likely interview for months before getting an offer (took me 12 interviews over 4 months which suuuuuucked but I️ guess years of working at agencies spoiled me. I️ think my interview at Bbdo took all of 10 minutes).
I heard they have very few vacation days. Of course you get other awesome benefits.
Several SR alumni are at Google. If you like the manic pace of SR, you’ll find Google to be comfortable. That said, depending on the role, there may be less variety.
I’ve also heard they pay all over the map. Some people took a cut to go there, others got a bump up.
12 interviews? Wtf!!! Dammmn!!!
OP, what is the role for?! I’m curious.
Google 1, what do you do there? How senior are you? This is all relative. Need more context.
Was an Account Director and went to Google to do what I️ thought was the same thing. By day two, I realized that I️ might as well have gone to work at a tech support call center. Left quickly there after.
Going to a place like Google or FB... good for an ad career??
Went there and left quickly. You’ll make a lot of money for sitting there and never using your brain again. If you are okay with that, go for it!
WS1 what was your role
Weber what did you do there? These companies aren’t for everyone but I’m definitely using my brain and working on mostly interesting projects.
AD 1 I’m a cw. Was an ACD at an agency prior.
