Has anyone been laid off and then started their own firm? I see business rapidly dwindling and nothing coming in as a balance. (Not a single call in or new consult in over 2 months). I’m trying to figure out if I jump ship and hopefully take my remaining clients with me, or if I ride this out until the firm inevitably closes my office.

Any guidance is appreciated.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

I’m beyond irritated by one of my coworkers. Just so disorganized, doesn’t show up to meetings, doesn’t reply to emails, constantly have to chase him, miss deadlines because of him. Management knows but does nothing about it. He really is a nice guy so it’s hard to hate him but I’m gonna lose it sooner or later. Does anyone use Kaseya BMS and know how I can integrate the projects portion with another App like Asana? I cannot function with BMS and I cannot change that part of what we use at work. So I would like to sync with Asana for tasks and such if this is anyway possible.
