Has anyone had to sign a release of liability, promising not to sue a workplace, even in the event of negligence of the employer, of any accident, and injury even with result of death? I work with a lot of mentally unstable folks.

I feel if upper management didn’t take care of a situation and it resulted in an injury or death, they should be liable.

Does this kind of document hold up in court in the event something happened and they were grossly negligent?

You should consult an employment lawyer. This seems unethical.

That’s a serious concern. While companies can ask you to sign such waivers, they often don’t hold up in court if gross negligence or willful misconduct is involved. It’s worth consulting a lawyer to fully understand your rights before signing anything.

My parents are dependent on me. My 62 yo dad and 57yo mom do some part time work and makes $1000/mon. Dad has some health complications like diabetes, high bp, genetic heart issues, liver problems etc. Does it make sense to get a life insurance for him - 20 yr term, $1M coverage. My anxiety makes me good at my job. My incessant checking, and double checking, and analyzing has earned me praise, trust, and early promotions. Sometimes I wonder, if I were to take medication to give myself some relief, and to stop the panic attacks, would I be less productive? And then I wonder, do I value my own health so little? But I’m so validated by my performance...sad isn’t it? Hope I’m not alone.

Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again. I am vaccinated, frustrated, and have been off of antidepressants since March. I don’t even want to go into work tomorrow. Anything is better than being virtual and I am trying to look at the bright side, but moving backward still burns. We have parent-teacher conferences coming up and I am hoping that it’s temporary.
