Has anyone made a career out of customer support? Or is it more just a stop along the way to another career?

I'm currently using is as a stepping stone and a way to fund my own small business until I can get it off the ground

I feel like it's an opportunity for growth if you can get into the upper management level

I have made a career in customer support.

I felt that it's still a transitory position for me. I don't see myself giving out years of my life in this industry. I really don;'t.

It's more of a stop along the way for me. I have bigger dreams that I want to pursue but currently do not have the means to. So I am pushing to change that soon.

I think I am in the right field. I am happy. I do wish to get better pay though and get promoted, but I think I am good at my job and don't see myself with another job.

I think I'd settle in this industry until I retire. I love my job and that's a good thing, I suppose.

I'd say I am using it as a stepping stone. I am thinking of switching to another industry. And I think I'd learn a lot of useful skills here.

I am proud to say that I have made a career here. I can actually see myself still working here 5-10 years from now. How about you, OP?

Are alternative investments a good area to get started in? I’m making a career change from insurance and like asset management, possibly at Northern Trust. They have openings for alternative investment analyst and I wasn’t sure if that is a recommended area to start in or would that not allow for growth? I just don’t want to get stuck in a specialty and not be able to move up because of it. Any advice?

For all the business/data analysts out there, do you ever feel like your job is draining you? Like it doesn't really make a difference, the work is really ambiguous or you never feel like you're doing a good enough job? I don't know if it would be different at another company, but I seriously don't understand why so many people are trying to break into this field. Maybe it just isn't for me.

Hi All,

Need some career advice.

I have a year of experience in a clinical ops role where learning is quite stagnant. I’m eagerly looking to transition to good challenging opportunities in life science consulting/analytics and allied domains. Which organisations/startups/roles should one apply to being a non-technical applicant with a masters in biotechnology?

It would be really helpful to get your guidance on further course of action.

TIA!

Hi 🐠!

Im current at EY in a consulting group that does not focus on deals, but have completed few due diligence type engagements. We focus mostly on ODD (Operational Due Diligence) for private equity firms. I really want to make it into IB. I have an interview for a Valuation and Opinions Role. Would that help in transitioning in as an IB Analyst? I would have a substantial pay cut (100K to 85K - excluding bonus). My current experience has not been seen as valuable by recruiters.
