I am currently working for Booz Allen Hamilton and attending GSU Law School in the evening.

I am set to graduate in the Fall of 2026 and intend to pursue big law opportunities in Atlanta or back home in Florida.

I am looking to connect with some folks either in the legal world or consulting world that would translate to the legal world in the future.

I have a BS in finance and I am currently staffed on a cybersecurity program management contract for the DoD.

Recently obtained my aPHR and I’m considering next steps in advancing my career. I am eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP presently and will not be able to sit for a PHR until 09/2023. Any pros/cons with either certification? Should I wait to sit for PHR or go for SHRM-CP now?

I'm a Software Engineer with 14 months of work experience. I want to move on to Product Management as my current job doesn't align with my long term career aspirations. I'm pretty confident in the tech aspects of my job and am undergoing a course in Business Foundations.
Any suggestions on what career steps I should take?

Been in information technology/cyber security for about 5 years now. Thinking about switching to a tech sales role. Does anybody have experience with this? Was it a good/bad idea?

Any tips for moving up in a medium/large-sized legal department, aside from switching companies? I work in a collegial environment with plenty of opportunities to create more value, but the management level is fairly crowded and it seems the clearest path to get one of those roles is to be hired into it. A good friend of mine graduated from Parsons this past summer, has degrees in Journalism and French, is a talented photographer and designer (which I feel I have a pretty decent eye for after working at a design-driven branding agency for half a decade). Does anyone pursuing FIRE actually like their current job? Trying to get a grasp of how much of the FIRE movement is driven by escapism from unfulfilling work.

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Anyone have general tips for this situation?

What are some of the best consulting firms for digital strategy roles? Looking for a change and was wondering which of the T1/T2 firms have digital practices in Canada. I have applied to ATK and McK. BCG is working to establish their presence in Canada but their team is focused on establishing top down. Bain doesn’t have digital focus. Can anyone shed some light on other T2 firms?

A question:
Is it possible to become an attorney (getting JD, admission to bar and keep license to practice) but not practice law at all and keep working in a totally different profession where you are already working at? I know professionally this doesn’t make sense but just curious to know.

Had a consultation with an attorney for legal advice on my options to address a late filing for a taxable event. They recommended me two options: file or not file. In order to help him with the consultation he asked to send him additional information like bank statements and work authorization which I sent.

If I decide to not file or go to another attorney if the fees are high, can the attorney still report me or whistle blow me to the tax authorities?

Question: can an employer legally withhold your personal possessions after you leave the firm? I left my old firm recently and they were not happy about me joining another consultancy. They are withholding any belongings that I left in the office and have ignored my emails asking to arrange a pick up or delivery of my personal items. I understand the covid19 environment impacts the situation, but anything I can do to get my stuff back? Any help would be appreciated. I’m based in NYC!

I am going through a divorce right now. I currently have a (my) family member stay with me to help take care of my children (until the divorce is finalized). My ex is oppose to my family member staying in the same house and decided to serve a notice to vacancy. However, I live in CA (community property state), and both of our names are on the title. Does my ex have any legal grounds to take such action to evict my visiting family member?
