I’ve been toying around with the idea of getting my masters in something relating to compliance/labor law and that side of HR. Shrm certification is also on my list. As I look towards transition to civilian sector I’m considering increasing tech experience to diversify my career and provide better options. I really wanted to work with Airbus but they are not budging from the offer of 23 even after I told them I have a better offer from Genpact with better position. HR said they will come back..

Hello all . I need advise for switching my career to forensic accounting practice.
Im currently working almost 5yrs for corporate banking, which is obviously non related forensic or accounting practice, but passed all Cpa exam already for career change. What else do i need to be prepared to hunt the foresic job in neat future? The level doesnt matter. I just want to start off with forensic accouting practice. Is additional CFE helpful? How impactful it’s to be SHRM certified?

I work for startup tech co. that was recently integrated with a larger similar employer. For 5 years I’ve been a contract 1099 employee salary range about $30k annually. My employer would like to offer me a managerial position yet still a 1099, however would like to offer compensation/bonuses to weigh out the fact that they are not providing any health ins, benefits or tax garnishments. I have zero tax write offs as a 1099 just for reference. What salary range should I be asking for?

Hello! I am an HR Coordinator at a nonprofit in Michigan! We are a growing company and I want to suggest to my boss and other higher ups within the company we create a employee morale committee. How would one go about creating a case for that? Like in my mind a group of people from the company would get together a few times a month and create fun things for our employees. Is anyone familiar with non-profit HR? I sit on a non-profit board and lend my HR expertise to them. Our executive director is leaving and other board members want to pay a “leaving bonus” as a thank you for her hard work and say it’s common in non-profit realm. I have researched and see a lot of retention bonuses but unsure why we’d give someone a bonus on their way out and don’t want to set a precedent for doing this. Any insight is appreciated.

I experienced an agency I am a contractor with that informed me I was not eligible for medical insurance until after 30 days but actually I was eligible for since day 1. I had a colleague hired from that agency as well as a contractor who told her the same thing and so I informed her otherwise. She fought tooth and nail for them to coincides she at least was ablevto get hers.

So I’ve always had a rough time trying to find what role titles I would be a good fit to apply to given that my career growth has been so peculiar (HR assistant at hotel, Operations Manager at hotel, seller support at Amazon, customer experience coordinator at an IT company, talent acquisition specialist at a health org)
In those roles I normally took more in my plate than the typical role requires (hr functions, data analysis, etc)
With 6-7 years if exp what role should I look?

Recommendations?? My US-based company is looking for a new background check company that can handle not only in-depth US checks, but also international ones. Our current vendor has an extremely slow turnaround time (4+ weeks) and terrible customer service. I appreciate any suggestions you have!

I hired my recruiter 8 months ago, and yesterday was his last day. He put in his notice to work for his parents’ business. I’m so happy for him and extremely grateful for his hard-work. He was the most talented DR I managed in my career so I’m feeling sadder than I normally would about a resignation. When great people leave your team, how do you cope?

I’m regularly told that they’re exceeding expectations but then they get reviews that say they’re meeting expectations on a team full of people that do way less than they do? I’ve actually been told that if there was something between meets and exceeds…I’d get that…but there not, so I get the same average performer raise, recognition, etc.

Is this normal? And is THIS what is triggering the quiet quitting movement? Let me know.

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?

I have been working in HR for 1 year now, specifically in recruiting. I am currently an in-house recruiter for a company. There is a large turnover for the position I hire for, the candidates are low quality as the position I hire for does not call for many specific skills or hard-to-obtain skills.
What sort of requirements typically need to be met to move into a different part of HR? I will likely have to find another company as the only positions above me in my company are taken by people who are very unlikely to leave in the coming 4-5 years.

Any kind hearted HR professional from KPMG Canada could refer me for an entry level talent acquisition role?
