Hi Fishbowl Friends! I’m looking in to starting a masters program in 2023. Background on me - I’ve been in HR for a little over 4 years now and earned my SHRM-CP last spring. Looking for more ways to improve.

Would you recommend any specific schools or master programs? I’m in Tampa, FL but I know most programs are remote these days. :)

Congrats! I would personally skip the Masters program if you can (unless it's very affordable) and take some certification programs instead

Need some career advice. I’m currently a Salesforce consultant in healthcare, looking to pivot to work within the political sphere - specifically social impact/policy. I’m passionate about driving societal change, and have struggled to feel like I can do so in my current role. Healthcare is also not of particular interest to me.

What are some possible routes I can take from here? And/or specific companies I should look into?

Is CPA crucial to breaking into investment banking, consulting, or any other high finance position?

I am going to work as an Audit Associate (Los Angeles) KPMG in 2023. I am thinking to stay there for more than a year, then making an attempt into banking. I really hate the CPA exams for soul-crushing. I am rather planning to break into the top MBA programs at the time. I have financial resources to do so but I feel quite mixed after getting the Macc for KPMG position without pursuing the CPA.

Is it legal to have old applications for applicants/new hires to put in their employee files? The way our ATS works is that a candidate fills out the employment app once and applies to numerous positions in the future. They are able to update but The problem is not all applicants update their application all the time so we end up with applications from 2019-2021 because we don’t have time to chase every person to update their application, but we do have any updated resume on file.
