Okay fish what is going on: I'm still eating at my caloric deficit, working out 1hr x 5-6 days / week, my measurements are smaller BUT I've gained 2kg in 2 weeks - what gives?

When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??

For those of you who had an allergic reaction to the COVID vaccine, how did you get a vaccine exemption? I had mine last year, experienced vertigo for 3 days, but didn't go to the doctor (since it went away the 4th day). I checked the CDC website, saw vertigo isn't listed under normal symptoms, and cancelled my appointment for the 2nd dose. I’m having a really hard time with my changing body. 13 weeks, I don’t have too many bad side effects of pregnancy or anything so I consider myself lucky (no nausea ever etc) but I’m depressed at work, my skin is completely broken out and showing new broken face capillaries, and I’m not showing a bump yet so I just feel fat and big. I don’t know where this “glow” is but I look in the mirror and literally am grappling with not recognizing myself :( it’s been impossible to find any clothes too.

I don’t want things to go “back to normal,” and lately I’ve been reading what feels like a lot of disingenuous arguments for reopening “for people’s mental health.” As someone who was suffering from the way things were before and is now thriving from the slowdown (both in work and personal life), I wish we could all stop pretending like we were living in some mental health utopia before the shut down.

Thinking about divorce. Wife had an affair 3 years ago that I haven’t been able to move past. Been married 11 years and have two kids though. Sister going through divorce with verbally abusive spouse, just received temporary judgement for custody of two year old and was awarded joint custody (she was anticipating she’d get sole custody).
