Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

I don't know why not. I'm not religious or practicing sobriety, but the longer I have been in my career the happier I am the firm doesn't intentionally promote a drinking culture. I'll probably get some hate over that.
It started as an afternoon celebration with some fun activity not just drinking.
In our market they then added a lunch for the promotes and some teams added after happy hours. The non promotes got bored and started the loser lunch for all those hanging around the office but not invited to the promote lunch.
Lastly someone decide partners get a morning champagne toast so why not new seniors and managers.
This sounds like Atlanta risk assurance
By the way, today is “promotion day” at PwC, the day they are announced. The drinking will commence at 0930.
My office has a promotion party right after connect day. Volunteer in the morning, booze in the afternoon.
We’re volunteering all morning. Festivities start at 3pm. I do like the “celebrate by giving back”. I like the yearly specialty drink even more ;)
We love the sauce EY2. The firm does not ‘promote’ it anymore but that is simply to line the pockets even further for our greedy partners. SMH
That is probably the only thing I give PwC over EY when I made the switch, EY does not celebrate promotions as well as PwC does.
