Your industry probably isn’t the problem. It may be how you’ve structured your job duties on the resume. Look at the JD and grab keywords to make you stand out. Also, look at smaller companies, it’s harder to get in the bigger companies. Many have said that once you’ve had certain companies on your resume, they’ll start reaching out to you. Maybe even reach out and connect with HR people on LI at the companies you’re targeting.
Agree with this… align your experience and achievements to more progressive disciplines of HR to secure a match for tech.
Idealy: HR degree and relevant masters. Or Business undergrad with HR masters. You will then walk in with a maybe 2 years experience.
Alternatively, you can start as a HR admin and HR Coordinator with 3 or 4 years experience with a small certificate in HR and that could work.
Don't go Facebook , they are culty and souless.
What’s also helpful is to search for alumni on LinkedIn that current work at your dream employer. Reach out to them to learn a bit more of the culture and to provide any pointers for attaining an opportunity and they’ll perhaps extend a referral for you.
