How does everyone handle their feelings after a bad day or just when they're feeling a little down? Do you confront and tackle your feelings head on or run from your feelings and seek comfort in a vice? My partner will have a drink or two, I'm a fan of the retail therapy myself.

I wish I had a healthy outlet for my depression but I tend to snack and otherwise eat my feelings. Mostly because food fills my soul and makes me happy... and retail therapy is out of my budget right now

Oml you must be over weight

It’s usually one of these or a combination:
1. Discuss it with my best friend or write it down in my notes app (if it can wait) and share it with the therapist.
2. Run from my feelings by throwing myself into social commitments.
3. Channeling that frustration towards a workout.

Well, I was the one who broke it off. I couldn’t get him to love me the way I needed or even respect me enough. It’s been 6 weeks of not seeing each other. We messaged this week. He doesn’t get it…. His messages show he still doesn’t know what he wants. Yet, if I am totally honest, I hate how part of me wishes he would do a grand gesture/finally decide to be a better man. It’s delusional. It’s crazy how love can be so rosy, sweet & blinding that the red flags seem surmountable.

How have you combated your fear of rejection? I fixate on such small things as when my friends, for example, reject plans I have made. This definitely makes me more averse to putting myself out there and makes me ruminate on past perceived failures, which are clearly not good for personal growth

My family mistreated me when I was younger, and now that I don’t live at home, they don’t call or bother to look for me, because frankly, I think they have a hard time admitting what happened - and will never apologize to me either. If I don’t call, or occasionally go see them during the holidays, we would never talk. Some of them are growing old (health-wise), and I’m scared this entire situation is just irreparable. Has anyone ever gone through anything similar? Any advice or thoughts?

Is it unreasonable for me to ask my husband to leave his job (or request unpaid time off) to take care of our children? We have been trying to both work from home with 2 kids at home (ages 2 and 4) and it has been a general shitshow every day. So I have been seeing a guy for 4 months. We have a pay disparity.. he earns less than I do (by quite a bit). He has mentioned a few times that he’s worried I’ll get bored of him when I know he can’t afford the same things I can. I think we are beginning to move past this, but now he’s starting to mention things like ‘I am really broke this month’, and last weekend he told me his mum has lost her job and he’ll have to probably pay her rent. I don’t understand how someone can lie about loving you for 6 months. We were together for almost a year (broke up a week before our anniversary). I said I love you first and he said it back. I asked for more reassurance last month with saying I love you more often. Now all of a sudden he said he didn’t know if he loved me and that love meant marriage for him. People who don’t submit their time daily, how do you remember what you did and for how long? I’ve always just submitted each timer as soon as I finish a task—“call with x re y” really doesn’t take that long even if I’m busy, and if I don’t do it immediately I’ll forget all those little I did in the morning by the time I go to bed.
