Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
AMA.
It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).

It depends. People on this app will claim they’re “living paycheck to paycheck”, when they are paying 5K a mont for rent, eating out, maxing out 401K/HYSA, etc. When in reality this isn’t the definition of paycheck to paycheck. It is all subjective on the individual and no one can say that you need this much to be comfortable in NYC.
Same Lmaoo but 3.2k for rent
For NYC 150ish
For SF 200k
Other HCOL: 130ish

Define “good qualify of life.” At this point, it’s dependent on OP’s financial obligations (like loans, family, etc.). The definition varies per person. If you want luxury, then no. But for the average person looking for an average apartment, $130k is enough in both cities. Again, I lived in NYC for 30 years and was born there. SF is also not as expensive as it once was in my viewpoint. You don’t need $200k to live in SF…
You can do a nice 1BR in Manhattan on $130k, if not less. Maybe not nice nice nice, but nice.

People have very high standards on this bowl.
In Chicago an avg 2 bed is probably $2k. So you decided what’s comfortable.
Some people on this app think that its their inherent right to live alone without roommates, so most of the complaining is 22 year olds that are entitled and think living in a luxurious building with amenities is normal for new grads on their first salary
I lived alone in downtown chicago (1br) when my take-home was under $60k, it was really difficult and I did not have a great quality of life but I did it. I now make $120k in the same unit and it’s *easy* to have a great quality of life. Rent + fees + parking =~$2k/mo
I’d say $85k would be a fair amount to live in Chicago alone in a decent, safe apartment and have a good quality of life. Depending on how good someone is with money and if they can find a really good deal on an apt, you could have a great quality of life with even less.
Those who treat six figure incomes like minimum wage are objectively out of touch or have very expensive habits.
I live in a tiny one bedroom in a luxury apartment complex with all amenities. Costs me $2700
