You work for 3M. Think about who you sell to currently.
Now think of other products/solutions that those businesses use. They likely have niche CRM, ERP, Sales, Scheduling, or estimating software.
Figure out those companies, and reach out to them. Pitching yourself as a pro at selling to that industry and show proof you’re a good rep by bringing stats, awards, etc to your interview.
Boom now you’re in tech sales. For every SalesForce or Google out there, there’s a thousand niche tech companies where reps are making good money.
Great advice, thank you!
From my experience, tech sales roles typically don’t require any certifications. They’re mostly going to look at your prospecting, negotiating and closing skills. I’d focus more on the adoption of a sales methodology like MEDDPICC to go along with the sales experience you already have. Best of luck!
Thank you!
