I can’t figure out this vibe I’m getting from my new therapist. They were resourceful and were able to put me in the right direction for 2 of the issues i had. But at the same time I feel like they behave a bit bossy. Ask me to send them a zoom link, etc. When I’m trying to make an appt they would say X day/hour is the only time I can offer me this week. Then when i decline, they come back & say they were able to extend their schedule for me and can offer Y time now (which works for me).

They have you set up the zoom and send a link?

This therapist is actually very good with technology I think. When I told him I am not allowed to use zoom outside of work, he said he was asking b/c he’s kinda a new to zoom. But then he instantly sent me a zoom invite lol.
If they offer virtual- only therapy (no in-person sessions at all), I would assume they should have some set up in place instead of asking clients to send him a zoom invite.

Good luck. I never enjoyed therapy for these reasons - it was an awkward and often transactional relationship. Made a handful of older friends and time with them ended up doing worlds more than therapy for me. But hope it works out with this therapist or a different one for you.

Yes agree. While I enjoy talking to them and benefiting so much, I feel like I am not able to trust them for the reasons such as they want me to provide zoom link or scheduling therapy for every other day instead of weekly etc. It’s weird

I know everyone will have different answers for this but how did you know it was time to get sober? I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.
